Our Pastor

Rev. Jason Griffice

Rev. Jason Griffice was installed as Pastor at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant on August 1st, 2019. Rev. Griffice brings a wealth of experience in youth, evangelism, and as a senior pastor. He attended Fullerton Junior College and then, transferred to Biola University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies. He completed his Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. After seminary, he was the Associate Pastor of Student and Young Adult Ministries at the San Marino Community Church.

Rev. Griffice then moved to Michigan where he was Senior Pastor at McGraft Memorial Congregational Church in Muskegon. More recently, he served as the Teaching and Discipleship Pastor at NorthEast of the Well here in Costa Mesa. Prior to attending seminary Rev. Griffice served as Director of Missions and Outreach at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach and Director of University Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio.

The PNC (Pastor Nominating Committee) was impressed with his enthusiasm for the Lord. It is evident in his Statement of Faith, his sermons, prayers, and in his warmth. At the time of his interview, he took the time to pray for the PNC! You can tell that prayer is just part of his being. We very much enjoyed his preaching style, which is conversational and, yes, he has a sense of humor!

PCC made it clear through its self-study (Holy Cow) that it sought a pastor that had a presence, could serve multi-generations, was straight-forward and unafraid to tackle tough spiritual issues. We believe we have fulfilled that charge.

Rev. Griffice has been married to Malia for 22 years and was married at PCC by Pastor Tim. They have been blessed with two children: Ezekiel (Zeke) age 17 who is a math, science wiz, and Elsie Linda Sue age thirteen who is a creative artist. Rev. Griffice believes he has the best wife in the world and the two most incredible children who keep life a constant adventure. In his free time, he loves to read (especially Scripture, theology, and literature). He loves music of all kinds and collects records, CDs, tapes, and 8-tracks. Oh, and he loves dessert!

This is a very exciting and important time in the life of PCC!

Pastors Hector and Dalila Islas

Amazing ministers, Hector and Dalila lead Casa del Alfarero Iglesia Familiar with worship and preaching primarily in Spanish. We are super excited for our 2nd year of AWANA for preschoolers through high schoolers (primarily in English). AWANA has been a big blessing to our church family and all of the kids involved.

Cornel brings a passion for music and experience combined with a deep desire to further the spiritual growth of our congregation through the ministry of music. He teaches the cello at Vanguard University and lives with his wife Magdalena and family in Costa Mesa.
